Two classes of image, and the line between them

Ambient photography — the hero, the category headers, the article images — is licensed stock from Pexels. It is illustrative: a lit window, a generator on a porch, a breaker panel. It sets a tone and makes nothing about it a claim.

Product photography is a different thing entirely and comes only from the retailer's own product data. A stock photograph may never stand in for a specific model on this site, because placing a generic picture beside a model name implies it is a picture of that model. Where we have no product photograph, the space carries a labeled placeholder rather than a substitute.

We also do not use stock imagery to depict people, premises or work as though they were ours. There are no team photographs on this site because there is no team to photograph, and a stock stranger presented as staff would be the same kind of fabrication as an invented price. The method in full.
