The short version

Watt & Warden earns a commission on qualifying purchases made through links on this site. You pay nothing extra. The retailer pays us a share of what they were going to keep anyway.

That is how the site is funded. There is no subscription, no paywall and no advertising.

How our links work

Every commercial link on this site goes through a redirect at /go/. Clicking a buy button sends you to that redirect, which forwards you to the retailer with our tracking tag attached. It adds no cost, changes nothing about the page you land on, and exists so that a change of retailer is a configuration change rather than a rewrite of every article.

Every affiliate link is marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and opens in a new tab, and every buy button carries a visible #ad label with a link back to this page.

Which retailers we earn from

Currently, one: Amazon. That is the honest and expected state for a site this young — affiliate networks approve publishers over time, and we have joined no others.

Where we link to a manufacturer's own site — Jackery, EcoFlow, BLUETTI, Generac, Kohler — for a specification sheet or a manual, those are ordinary reference links and we earn nothing from them. If that changes, this page changes with it.

Why commission cannot change a ranking

This is the claim every affiliate site makes, so here is the structural reason rather than the promise:

• Every pick carries a stated reason to skip it. It is a required field in our content system — a page cannot ship without one. A roundup that could not name a product's weakness would fail to build.
• We publish no rating of our own. There is no score to quietly inflate, and no Review or AggregateRating data anywhere on the site.
• Prices come from a live data layer or not at all. There is no code path that can render a favorable number we made up.
• The cheaper product wins when it is the better answer. Several pages recommend spending less, and one recommends buying nothing at all if your outages are short enough.
• We accept no sponsored placements and no free products. Accepting either would create the obligation this method exists to avoid.

What we do not do

• Recommend a product we would not recommend without the commission
• Rank by commission rate
• Hide the fact that a link is affiliated
• Claim to have tested something we have not
• Publish a price we cannot verify live
• Invent reviews, ratings or review counts

Prices and availability

Prices shown on this site come from the retailer at the time the page was built, and they change constantly. Where a live price cannot be verified, the button reads “Check price” rather than showing a stale number.

Always confirm the price and availability on the retailer's own page before buying. The price you see there is the price you pay.

Your privacy

Clicking an affiliate link passes a tracking identifier to the retailer so a purchase can be attributed to us. We do not receive your name, your payment details or your address — only aggregate reports of commissions earned. The privacy policy covers what we collect.
